Paulaner Oktoberfest Beer
The pure Oktoberfest feeling
Since 1818, the Munich-based traditional brewery PAULANER has been brewing its bottom-fermented festival beer especially for the Wiesn – Germany’s most-consumed Oktoberfest beer and a true Munich institution. A Maß filled with Oktoberfest sunshine: powerful, golden, and radiant. On the palate, fine hop notes and robust malt come together in perfect harmony. Festive, full-bodied, and wonderfully smooth.
A beer brewed exclusively for the Wiesn – and as much a part of it as the Ferris wheel and roasted almonds.

The Bavarian Purity Law
Paulaner Oktoberfest Beer is brewed strictly in accordance with the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516, which permits only four ingredients: water, barley malt, hops, and yeast. For this special festival beer, the brewery uses exclusively selected raw materials, including noble Hallertau hops and the distinctive Munich yeast. This is how the consistently high quality and unmistakable flavor are achieved – a hallmark of Paulaner Oktoberfest Beer for generations.
The roots of this brewing tradition lie in an even older regulation. On November 30, 1487, Duke Albrecht “the Wise” issued the Munich Purity Law for the Duchy of Bavaria-Munich, stipulating that beer may be brewed “from nothing other than hops, barley, and water.” Paulaner continues to brew according to this principle to this day. Accordingly, Paulaner Oktoberfest Beer is made exclusively from water, pale (Pilsner) and dark barley malt (Munich malt), and three selected hop varieties: Hercules and Hallertau Tradition.
